Jake Bugg.
Jake Bugg's new album, having received a 6/10 from NME has remained not reviewed by myself.
I have to say, I was smitten after his first album. His lyrics and rhythms were refreshing and when seeing him at Reading festival 2013 I went absolutely mad for him. His first album is pretty flawless, with a great range of different styles, and I pretty much had it on repeat for most of the summer holiday.
Seeing him live was a great eye-opener. Throughout Reading I witnessed professional light displays and complicated sets, then Jake came, with a stripped back, no fuss approach. Just him, his guitars and a drummer. Not much else you could ask for really. He kept the audience hyped and he gave high quality performance. No faffing about.
However, this album, although still a favourite of mine, was quite worrying. In my opinion he is slowly falling into a more American feel, I guess due to it being recorded in America. I just hope Jake isn't doing it just to appeal to the masses. (Which i'm sure he isn't)
All in all my opinion is that of an impressed one, he has quickly produced a pretty high calibre album with a few absolute bangers!
Those being, Slumville Sunrise, What Doesn't Kill You, Me And You and Simple Pleasures.
You can't deny that Jake is a embracing the Rock and Roll lifestyle, by expressing opinions of One Direction, which to be frank everyone was thinking, and also being seen calling Mumford and Sons, "posh farmers with banjos."

He's not afraid to voice his opinions, and I hope he continues with that way of living, for once someone isn't making contacts with others to help them out, he says it how it is, he doesn't play any games. Much like his music. And that is just so very endearing.
