HAIM.
Yo, so i've been requested to do a little post about HAIM and I live to please so here it goes.
A female rock band made up from three sisters form LA, and once again they have created a fresh new sound which is becoming more and more popular worldwide, as shown by their hugely successful tour.
British girl bands create, in my opinion, cheap pop, *cough* Little Mix *cough*
BUT America has done it right. These girls embrace the essence of rock and make some pretty catchy tunes. HAIM's songwriting is pure genius, I honestly believe they have written more good tunes in their one album than other artists whole careers, now they have the hard job of keeping it up in the future.
I think they fit this description from the Guardian perfectly, "they look and sound like a group that has played around the world and got some dirt under its fingernails."
They sound so well performed and have the same energy and if not more on stage than on their album, I always feel so let down when artists are worse live than they are on their albums, it just seems like they put less effort into their live gigs and they let off the vibe that live concerts are just a waste of their time, *cough* Ellie Goulding *cough* (Who said that?)
One of the most interesting thing about these girls is that their album seems very technical and complicated whereas their live shows are stripped back bare, and I think thats bloody brilliant!
When you see people such as HAIM live you want to hear them, not watch any fancy stuff going on in the background, thats why I enjoy their simple drum work so much, they are awfully clever in this sense, its a different experience at home to that of a live viewing, which ultimately makes me want to see them more and hear them more, very well played.
